Austria faces another week of unsettled weather, according to forecasts from Geosphere Austria. While sunshine will make occasional appearances, a warm front arriving Tuesday will bring milder air and rising temperatures of up to 12°C — but only for a short time.

  • Monday: Sunshine dominates in the west and along the northern Alps. Elsewhere, clouds and fog prevail, with light rain in the east and southeast. Snow falls above 600–900 meters. Morning lows range from –4°C to +4°C, highs between 2°C and 9°C.
  • Tuesday: Conditions turn milder. The south and east remain cloudy with fog, while the northern Alps see brief sunshine before dense clouds arrive from the west. Evening rain begins in western regions, with snow levels rising to 1,500 meters. Temperatures range from –8°C to +2°C in the morning, and 3°C to 11°C during the day.
  • Wednesday: Widespread cloud cover with occasional sunny breaks. Rain falls mainly in the west, with snow between 1,200 and 1,700 meters. Highs reach 4°C to 12°C, warmest in western Austria.
  • Thursday: Short sunny spells give way to renewed cloud cover and rain, especially in the west. Snow levels drop to 1,000–1,300 meters. Winds strengthen in alpine and eastern regions, pushing mild air into valleys. Temperatures rise to 6°C–11°C.
  • Friday: A mix of sun, clouds, and showers. Light rain is most frequent along and north of the Alps, while the south enjoys longer sunny periods. Afternoon showers ease. Highs range from 6°C to 12°C.

In short: the sun will return, but only briefly, before Austria slips back into a cycle of clouds, rain, and shifting snow lines.
